Waterstown Warriors was founded in 2016, but the story of the club started years before that. Following the setting up of Waterstown parkrun in 2014, a running community was quickly established in Palmerstown and surrounding areas. Regular parkrunners began to meet for runs during the week and the numbers began to swell each Saturday morning for parkrun. 5K runs led to 10K’s and it in turn led to 20K’s and beyond. Before long, organized races and marathons were on the horizon. Local woman Julie O’Connor, who was instrumental in setting up Waterstown parkrun saw the need for the establishment of a running club and she set the ball rolling on what has proved to be a very successful club of over 130 members.
Waterstown Warriors caters for walkers and runners or all abilities, and the club’s motto is that ‘Nobody Gets Left Behind’. So, if you are looking to be part of a friendly and welcoming club why not drop down on Monday evening at 7.15 pm to meet us.
